About the Founders
Dr Ray and Rev Jean Kadkhodaian founded The Lighthouse Emotional Wellness Center in 2002 with an original desire to provide a new and more successful approach to helping couples improve their relationships. Dr. Ray and Rev. Jean were married on February 14th 1998. They met while working in a community mental health setting and discovered they were both attending Roosevelt University and working on their master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. Their passion for their own relationship and how to learn and grow together led them to create Couples Synergy and found The Lighthouse Emotional Wellness Center.
They believe that their relationship needs to be a beacon for all the couples and families they work with and they certainly practice what they preach. They are constantly working on developing both as individuals and as a couple. All living things are either growing or dying. Relationships are no different. If a couple is not investing time, energy and new experiences into their relationship it becomes stagnant. From this perspective Dr, Ray and Rev, Jean are committed to creating an extraordinary relationship. Their adventurous and creative spirits have led them on many adventures such as climbing a volcano in the Philippians and hiking the John Muir Trail for 180 miles over 19 days to riding motorcycles and scuba diving to traveling to many exciting places like Tahiti, Japan and Spain. They are currently training for a 2017 marathon and working on writing and publishing the second version of their book “Good Boundaries – Great Relationships”. They have 2 grown sons and are looking forward to officaly gaining Angela as a daughter when their oldest marries in 2018. They have a dog named Jasmine and a fishtank with 3 stingrays. They have a passion for creating beautiful spaces and even designed and helped build their office in Schaumburg Illinois.
