For those of our clients who may need the assistance of medication therapy, our resident psychiatrist, Dr. Kadkhodaian, takes a conservative approach to the use of psychotropic medications in combination with the integrative services that The Lighthouse provides.
Dr. Kadkhodaian obtained his medical degree from Tehran Medical School in 1964. He completed his internship at Cook County Hospital and his residency at the Illinois State Psychiatry Institute, both located in Chicago.
His experience in the field of psychiatry is extensive as he has been employed by a multitude of mental health facilities and hospitals throughout the Chicagoland area. Currently, in addition to serving as a staff psychiatrist and medical director at The Lighthouse and maintaining his own private practice, Dr. Kadkhodaian is the Department Chair of Psychiatry at Mercy Hospital in downtown Chicago.
Dr. Kadkhodaian is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Adult Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry and Psychosomatic Medicine. He is a Fellow member of the American Psychiatric Association and a member of the American Medical Association.
