Angela is a Qualified Mental Health Professional who helps others pick up an axe to break down the overwhelming wall of anxiety. Her work with clients centers around first understanding their obstacles and then learning tools to grow pass them. She uses grounding exercises, mindfulness, as well as cognitive behavioral therapy and psychoanalytic techniques to help others heal their emotional wounds.
Her studies have helped her grow a wealth of knowledge of the brain and patterns of behavior while her life experiences help her empathize and empower others. Angela was born in Worcester, Massachusetts and briefly lived as a Georgia peach before she grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she worked in a communication and language laboratory. Her Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University was an integrative program and taught her a variety of psychological frameworks and treatments.
She has experience working within an elementary school, guiding young adults with their decision making, and working with adults in residential facilities. She spent time teaching meditation to adults with high-stress work environments and is an adjunct professor educating college students about child psychology. Angela is excited to be part of the Lighthouse Emotional Wellness Center to help individuals who need assistance in overcoming emotional struggles.
