David is a licensed professional counselor who looks forward to working collaboratively with all clients he works with. He accomplishes this by learning about the client, identifying needs and strengths, and helping them to navigate the difficult times in their lives. David utilizes psychoeducation, teaching coping skills, mindfulness, and therapeutic techniques such as CBT and ARC. David has worked with a range of client’s from children to adults. David has experience with different client concerns including life changes, depression, anxiety, and many different types of trauma.
David received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Roosevelt University. David took 9 months off after that to focus on self-care and expanding his knowledge. David returned to Roosevelt University for his Master’s degree in Clinical Professional Psychology. David worked for a not for profit organization for 3 years and had diverse clients ranging from DCFS involved families to sexual offenders. He has been engaged in trauma focused work for those three years of experience and is excited to bring his knowledge to Lighthouse Emotional Wellness Center and continue to help clients to achieve stability and emotional well being in their lives.
