Lisa is a Licensed Professional Counselor at the Lighthouse Emotional Wellness Center. As a National Certified Counselor, Lisa is a problem solver. She assists clients struggling with anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, adjustment disorders, and interpersonal conflict.
She was previously in the banking and accounting fields where she was trained in data analysis and developed a keen eye for pattern recognition and meta-analysis skills. She now employs these paradigms in the field of counseling psychology, her hearts true passion. She now uses these skills to understand the complex data of a persons’ life and relationships and looks for themes and patterns that help create flexibility inducing choices and freedom in people and their relationships. Lisa made the career change after deciding to leave the workforce and be a stay at home mom to raise her daughters. While at home she realized the deep sense of value and priority that development and the human experience held for her.
Lisa utilizes multiple modalities when working with her clients, including attachment theory, developmental psychology, cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT, narrative and play therapy. She enjoys working with individuals, adolescence and adults, couples, families and children. Lisa’s professional desire is to hold other’s stories well; with compassion, kindness and insight, while leading clients toward increased freedom and personal growth and healing.
Lisa holds a Master of Arts from Concordia University Chicago, in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She also holds an undergraduate B.S. in family and individual development from Northern Illinois University and an A.A. from William Harper Rainy College in Palatine Illinois. She has worked with at risk youth, adolescents and their families. She has also been in advocate, educational and mentoring roles through various volunteering opportunities.
Outside the office, Lisa loves going on outdoor adventures with her husband of 20 years and their daughters. She enjoys kayaking, hiking, biking and skiing. She also enjoys learning and growing through reading, piano lessons, and practicing martial arts.
