Sarah Nordman is a Nationally Certified Licensed Professional Counselor active in the State of Illinois. Sarah enjoys working as a therapist. She brings commitment, wholehearted compassion, and creativity to her role as a Counselor at the Lighthouse

Sarah has obtained a Master of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Concordia University Chicago. Sarah has worked for several years in residential homes, a clinic, and private practices. Sarah believes in offering a “safe place” for her clients where they can feel comfortable talking, process, and healing. Sarah lives her life by the principles of integrity and hard work. Sarah advocates for her clients to help make lasting positive changes. Sarah works with children, adolescents, teens, and young adults. Sarah specializes in treating depression, past hurts, eating disorders, and low self-esteem.

Sarah uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution focused therapy, and art and music therapies in her work. Sarah utilizes a strength-based approach as well. She believes that clients who seek counseling are ‘courageous.’ For fun, Sarah loves to be outside, go for a run, cook new recipes, and read. She loves her family too. Sarah loves learning about other cultures and learning in general. Sarah feels that the Lighthouse Emotional Wellness Center is a great counseling center and staff and is happy to have joined this dynamic team.
