Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can develop after experiencing or witnessing something traumatic.
It may show up as:
- Intrusive memories or flashbacks
- Nightmares
- Avoiding reminders of the trauma
- Feeling constantly on edge or easily startled
- Irritability or anger
- Numbness or emotional detachment
- Trouble sleeping or concentrating
If any of this sounds familiar, your nervous system may still be stuck in “survival mode.” That’s not weakness…it’s your brain trying to protect you.
